I am leaving in a jet plane and I don’t know when I will be back again.  Yes you read it right, I am going back to my country (Mera Desh) “Mother India”. I am actually writing this message form Birmingham, Alabama International airport terminal.  Right now I have passed thru all the TSA checks and waiting for my jet plane so that I can go to Chicago, then to Frankfurt and to Bangalore.

This time I don’t know when I will back to USA again as my Visa as also expired and I will have to reapply my visa and then get a project back in India which will sponsor me to back to USA. The whole process will at least give me couple of months back in India.

So cya folks and my next blog will be from India.

Today I visited Georgia aquarium for this to happen I had to buy tickets a week before as my work colleague advice me to advance book my tickets because on weekends its usually sold out.

As I entered the Aquarium I was handed out a free Aquarium map. After a quick glance @ the map I got to know that – The Georgia Aquarium is billed as the world's largest. It is the largest because it has about 100,000 fish from 60 habitats in the more than 500,000 square foot building. It also has two Whale Sharks — the world's largest fish.

Aquarium is divided in five galleries:

  1. Tropical Diver
  2. Ocean Voyager
  3. Cold Water Quest
  4. River Scout
  5. Georgia Explorer

The main attraction for me was the Whale Sharks and the Beluga Whales. It was just awesome to see these creatures alive swimming just front of you and just an acrylic glass separating us. It’s just amazing.

The last gallery I visited was the Georgia Explorer; there I got to experience touching Star fish and other fishes there. The good thing about the gallery is that they give 15 – 20 mins breaks for the fish were you cant touch them, it was kinda cool that you are giving them rest from constantly being touch by humans.

The whole disappointment was that I was not able to see any turtles. No turtles, how can that be?

The grand finale was the 4D Theater. This was also a nice experience, it was a movie similar to “Finding Nemo” but with a very good message for all – “Don’t mess with Mother Nature”.

I recommend if you are in Atlanta and have not seen the Georgia Aquarium then leave everything as is and visit the Largest Aquarium in the World NOW!

It was newly built chruch of Infant Jesus. It had a lovely crucifix and a beautiful Jesus Christ made with small creamic tiles on the wall. Lovely what best can you ask on a Christmas day.

I am on an official trip to Birmingham, Alabama, USA from 12-Jan06 to 12-Mar-06. I am going as a consultant for implementing remote support capability to one of our clients. Basically we want to remote support few IT services of our client in USA from India to reduce the cost. Man Oh Man everyone is ready and willing to cut cost to make more net profit. It is predicted by Gartner that the highest growing sub-division of IT is going to remote support management and it’s estimated to be some billion of dollars. I hope I can get some fraction of it @ the end of my project.

Nilgiris Moutains are very beautiful to go to. It is about 290 KMs from Bangalore. The drive to the mountains is very enjoyable and the scenic beauty you get to see en route to these mountains are spell binding.

The whole of Nilgiris mountains have lots of Nilgiri trees also know as Eucalyptus trees. That’s were the name is derived from. I am confused – if the trees got the name form the mountain or mountain got the name form the trees. Either way trees in the mountain are very beautiful. Here are the Pics below to prove it.

Half mega pixel December 29, 2005

Recently my entire family (Well I think its time to introduce my Family – My Dad – Nitin, My Sister – Mable and My Brother In Law – SSR) had been to Mysore and ooty for a nice little family trip. It was nice little vacation we had and all along we took pics like everyone does. But the only change this time was I was using my New Cannon IS S2 digi camera. Almost at the end of the trip, me and my sister where discussing how much more capacity we have in each others digi cam to take more pics and to my surprise when I checked, the screen showed me that I could still take about 2000 odd more pics and that’s when it hit me that we recorded all the pics all along @ 640×480 resolution. How DUM of me!!!

That’s when I thought – “Why do Cannon give 0.5 or 1 mega pixel resolution option when it is a 5 – 9 megapixel camera”.

Why WHY Why….. Can some one explain. If I wanted a 640×480 pixel pics I would have used my mobile phone or taken a cheap 1 -2 mega pixel camera and would not have invested on a $450 5 mega pixel camera with 12X zoom, right!

Due to this unwanted option I have lost all my wonderful pics of the Nilgiris – Blue Mountains, Bandipur wild life and scenic drive to Ooty to 0.5 pixel. I think I will have to make another visit to these wonderful cool south Indian cites just to takes pics again and this time I will make sure that not even by mistake also I will have a camera set to take pics @ 640×480.

To bad we don’t have a fast Law service or Courts in India, otherwise I would have Sued Cannon for such stupidity.
